This Warrant Officer has completed a fine record of operational work, in the course of which he has displayed sustained courage and devotion to duty. His missions include attacks on targets in Germany, Italy and occupied territory, which he has pressed home in the face of much opposition.

TAYLOR, Harry Forbes McPherson, P/O, CGM (143385, RAFVR*) - No.156 Squadron - Distinguished Flying Cross - awarded as per London Gazette dated 15 June 1943. Following text from Public Record Office Air 2/8955, drafted when he had flown 59 sorties (332 operational hours).

Pilot Officer Taylor has always shown great qualities of courage and determination which have enabled him to reach and attack successfully a large variety of objectives. On four occasions this officer’s aircraft has sustained damage from the ground defences, but in spite of this he invariably presses home his attacks with coolness and tenacity.

Since his last award he has completed numerous sorties which have included two attacks on Berlin.
