Cyril was born in
Plymouth, Devon on 11 June 1920, married to Hazel with one son
Steve and two grandchildren.
He Joined Bomber
Command in June 1942 as a trainee wireless operator and released
from duties June 1946.
Cyril continued to work
within the aircraft industry, working for Channel Island Airways
in Jersey then British European Airways at Lands End and Gatwick
Airport as a ground operations manager. Finally finishing his
working days with British Airways and retiring after 61 years.
He was a very modest
man who kept his war time experiences to himself, though he
would speak of them if asked, his answers were very economical.
He died 5 October 1994
aged 74 years.
