According to the 156 Squadron Operations Record Book (ORB) Sgt Brown was posted in on 25/03/1943, as part of P/O R J Hudson's crew. His initial posting was to 12 Squadron on 10/10/42 and remained there until 24/3/1943 completing 12 ops with that Squadron.

His final mission, to Elberfield, on the 24/6/1943 took off from Warboys at 23:19 an crashed in the vicinity of Koln, where burials are reported for 29 June. Three now rest in Rheinberg War Cemetery; the others are perpetuated by the Runnymede Memorial  (details from Chorley's Bomber Command Losses)
