Hi WebOwner - I have been reading the 166 logs for Nov 1940.This was my father's 1st op in his log book ( listed there as Boulogne ). The squadron log states 7 aircraft but the Mission Details only has 6 aircraft listed and no mention of my fathers aircraft. Do you know why this might be? Once again, congrats on this great website. Regards, Steve.

Firstly "the 166 logs " I take to be 101 logs.

The site is showing a mission to C.C.29 on 30/10/1940, this is an error and should be 29/11/40. I presume that C.C.29 and Boulogne are one and the same?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I will fix it shortly.

My name is Geoff Smith and I am the son of:
Squadron Leader Geoffrey Francis Smith DFM, Service Number: 179252, who was assigned to 101 squadron. He joined 101 Squadron on the 19/07/1943 and, apart from a few weeks in Dec 43 (When he transferred to 576 Squadron), remained in 101 until 17/03/1944. He was Flight Engineer on DV245 'The Saint' and his Pilot was Roy Richard Leeder..I have a great deal of information, photographs etc and am looking for more information myself over and above all the brilliant records that have already been entered on the site. I would be eternally grateful if anybody has any further info. Thanks in anticipation!

Like the site for the research I am doing on a family member. Flt. Sgt A.J Pepperrell 23113 RAAF on Lancaster JB149 was shot down 3/9/1943. I am looking for any information photos etc on my uncle during his service with 101 RAF Squadron. Can anyone help me?

What a good job you are doing here. Thank you for your efforts.
My father in law, Ian Sangster was a wireless operator from Nov 1944 to April 1945 under S/L Flint. He flew in Lancaster Z for Zebra. I am currently researching his RAF history.
If anyone has any idea why he should have gone on to 51 squadron at Colerne some time in April/May 1945 before being posted to Asia, I would be pleased to know. I didn't think that 51 squadron was ever based at Colerne.
